Welcome to the Saint Lucy School website! The purpose of our website is to provide parents, students, and prospective families with easy access to information about our school programs.
Saint Lucy School serves approximately 35 students from across the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Our primary goal is to prepare students to face the challenges of life by being rooted in faith.
We follow the elementary curriculum set forth by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. In order to accomplish this goal, we individualize access according to each child’s visual needs. This is accomplished through the use of magnification devices, lighting, positioning, tactual materials, braille, and assistive technology.
Following the guidance of the Expanded Core Curriculum we provide instruction in Orientation and Mobility, Social Skills, Independent Living Skills, Recreation and Leisure Skills, Assistive Technology, Visual Efficiency Skills, and Career Awareness. We involve families in learning how to approach tasks using non-visual methods, so that skills can be reinforced at home.
The Saint Lucy School family provides support to each child to build self-esteem and confidence by helping them become aware of their great dignity as a child of God.
Enjoy your time learning about us!
